Leigh was admitted as a lawyer after completing his law degree at the University of Tasmania. He has continued to practice as a barrister and solicitor in Tasmania.
Since starting work as a lawyer in 1995, Leigh has worked for several Tasmanian and interstate law firms and has worked exclusively in the field of personal injuries litigation. He has acted on behalf of many injured Tasmanian’s and has helped them obtain compensation for their injuries resulting from motor vehicle accidents, workplace injuries and injuries in public places.
Over several years, Leigh has developed his knowledge of asbestos exposure cases and has represented numerous people who have developed asbestosis and mesothelioma as a result of their exposure to asbestos during their employment and also outside of employment. Leigh was a member of the Workplace Standards legal advisory committee which advised the Tasmanian Government on the introduction of the Asbestos Compensation scheme introduced in late 2011.
Leigh is admitted as a practitioner of the Supreme Court of Tasmania and the High Court of Australia.
